Sildenafil

Sildenafil is a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction and pulmonary arterial hypertension. It works by increasing blood flow to the penis, allowing a man to achieve and maintain an erection during sexual stimulation. It belongs to a class of drugs called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. Sildenafil is sold under the brand name Viagra, and it is available in tablet form for oral administration.

Sildenafil is available in caps ranging from less than 25 mg to greater than 25mg. Using 5mg daily can help support vascular health. It is a vasodilator that helps support endothelial dysfunction. However, blood pressure should be monitored. Doses greater than 25mg can be used to help erectile disfunction, with blood pressure needing to be monitored.
